Fall is officially here! This Tuesday marked the first day of fall in Destin, so now we can officially say goodbye to summer. We’ve even got some cooler temperatures on the radar for next week, but don’t worry; you can still comfortably enjoy the beach well into November. If you’re staying with us in Destin this fall, don’t forget to pack the shorts and flip flops! There are also lots of things to do in Destin in the fall. Fall break is a popular time of year to visit, but so is any time in the fall.   • Fishing charters – Fall is a great time of year to go fishing in Destin. Rent a fishing charter from one of Destin’s many numerous charter boats and see for yourself.   • Destin Fishing Rodeo – Destin is known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” for a reason! The Destin Fishing Rodeo starts on October 1st and is absolutely one of our favorite fun fall activities in Destin.   • Premier shopping – You will also find some great shopping in Destin as well. Three of the area’s best outdoor malls await at Destin Commons, Silver Sands Premium Outlets, and Grand Boulevard. Score your favorite fall fashions, discover a great deal, or just have fun perusing the shops with your friends.
  • Dolphin cruises – In addition, dolphin cruises are a great way to see some beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Book a dolphin cruise and ride through the East Pass, or take a short walk from the Cottages to catch a glimpse at Clement Taylor Park.
  • Visit a city park – Destin’s city parks are the perfect place to relax and spend some time outdoors, especially if you’re traveling with young kids. The new Captain Leonard Destin Park is just a short two-minute walk from the Cottages and includes a beach area, boardwalk, splash pad, and more!
