Outdoor Fun at the Cottages

There are endless opportunities for outdoor fun at the Cottages by the Bay. To start, the property has a fantastic outdoor space. Spread out and enjoy family activities on the lawn for an afternoon to remember. Additionally, there is a seasonally available fire pit to unwind by. Even out of season, guests can gather here for an evening under the stars. When you stay at the Cottages, plan for time to lounge by the private pool, too. When you’re ready to mix things up, we have you covered on Bay access and a sandy beach. The water here is calmer than the Gulf, and guests often encounter small sea creatures like juvenile blue crabs and small fish.

If you’d like to venture from the property, visit Captain Leonard Destin Park this summer. Coming soon, this brand new waterfront park is located across from the Cottages at 101 Calhoun Avenue. Guests can enjoy a day on the Choctawhatchee Bay where the water is typically calm and clear. If you’re looking for an adventure, we recommend you visit our friends at La Dolce Vita for a kayak or paddle board rental to take on the water.

Another local favorite is Henderson Beach State Park. This park is located at 17000 Emerald Coast Parkway and is only four miles from the Cottages by the Bay. Guests can expect plenty of parking, great facilities and of course, stunning beaches. Spend your time exploring the white sand beaches and emerald waters the Gulf Coast is known for. There are 6,000 sq ft. of undeveloped shoreline to experience. Please note, there is a nominal fee for entry to the park.
