Get Outside

One activity that is perfect on the bay is kayaking. Enjoy paddling over the calm waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay while you soak up the sun. The best part? When you stay at the Cottages by the Bay, it is only steps away. Additionally, you can rent kayaks from our friends at La Dolce Vita. They have you covered on all of your beach needs. If you are an adventurer, we highly recommend Ride on Surf School in Destin. They will have you crushing the waves in no time. Also, Ride on Surf School offers camps in addition to lessons. There is something for locals and visitors alike.

One of our favorite ways to get out on the water is on a paddleboard. It takes a little practice, but this activity is fun for all ages. Plus, it’s a great way to get a workout in! It is especially nice to paddleboard when the water is calm. You may even catch a glimpse of some sea life. On that note, take the opportunity to snorkel in the Gulf of Mexico. Our waters are homes to some beautiful fish and sea creatures.
