72nd Destin Fishing Rodeo is a Go
COVID may have slowed down many parts of our beach community, but it can’t stop an annual Destin tradition. The 72nd Destin Fishing Rodeo is still scheduled as planned for this year, and we could not be more excited. Since visitors and locals are looking for more ways to spend time outside, the Destin Fishing Rodeo comes at a perfect time. Open waters, fresh air, and Destin’s beautiful October weather are just some of the reasons we’re excited about this event.
We’re only three weeks away, so now is the time to make your plans to join in on the rodeo fun. The 72nd Destin Fishing Rodeo kicks off on October 1st and lasts the entire month. Anglers from all over come to Destin for the rodeo! It’s free for anglers to fish on a registered charter or private boat, but registration is required for those planning on fishing from a kayak, paddleboard, or a bridge. Additionally, the rodeo is not just fishing and weigh-ins. There are also kids’ activities that include a fall movie festival and Halloween on the Harbor. It’s fun for the whole family!
If you’re coming in town for the Destin Fishing Rodeo, make plans to stay at our Cottages by the Bay. Since weigh-ins take place at the Destin Harbor each day, these Destin vacation homes are an ideal place for your group. Our Cottages are within walking distance of the Harbor and only take a few minutes to get there. Enjoy a great dinner at a nearby local restaurant, then walk to the Harbor to catch the fun. However, weigh-ins are over at 7 PM, so be sure to get there early!
