Dine at Harbor Docks
Harbor Docks is the perfect dining spot in Destin for Labor Day weekend because as you enjoy your meal, you can watch the boats cruise through Destin Harbor. You might even get lucky and see a boat bring in their daily fishing haul to the docks. Harbor Docks menu consists of fresh fish from the Gulf. You will find incredible sushi, catch of the day dishes, and even a delicious burger. Be sure to order a slice of the key lime pie before heading home. You will want to save room for this delicious treat. If you time it just right, you could also get a gorgeous view of the sunset from the outside patio. This makes the perfect backdrop for a quick photo before dinner!
Go on a Dolphin Cruise
Say goodbye to solid ground for a few hours and take to the sea on a dolphin cruise in Destin. The Harbor offers multiple options but our favorite is the Olin Marler Dolphin Cruise. You will board a ship and cruise through the waters of Choctawhatchee Bay in search of dolphins. Even if you aren’t lucky enough to catch a dolphin sighting, it is always so peaceful to take a ride out on the water.
Spend the day at Captain Leonard Park
If you are traveling with children, we highly recommend spending the day at Captain Leonard State Park. They have everything you will need including a splash pad, beach area, and boardwalk. Also, as a bonus, the park is right across the street from the Cottages! So, you won’t have to travel far to rest from your day of fun in the sun.
